Cristian Perez - Cincinnati Reds Major League Advanced Scouting Coach

Season 4 Episode 12 is out with Cristian Perez. Cristian is currently working for the Cincinnati Reds as a Major League Advance Scouting Coach. Cristian works as being a hybrid between the front office and on-field player development.  Before working with the Cincinnati Reds, Cristian attended and played college baseball at Duke University and the University of Southern California.

After college, Cristian worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks as a Baseball Ops Intern. He goes into detail about his experience working with an organization and how he was able to work with many different departments to learn the overall process.

After working the Diamondbacks, Cristian got a job with the Commissioner’s office as a Fellow working with International Baseball Operations.  Cristian talks about the overall interview process and how in-depth it really can be. He explains the Commissioner’s office isn’t exactly about how much you know but how well you can fit in the overall organization.

Cristian has one of the most interesting jobs in baseball working with on-field development and the baseball ops department. On field development he worked with catcher development. He also caught bullpens, helped with pitchers pre game, and through BP. On the baseball ops side, he worked with analytics writing reports on the pitchers and catchers side for upcoming series.

Cristian has a wide arrange of skills from his background at Duke and USC, to Baseball Ops, and the Commissioner’s office. Its no luck that Cristian has one of the most interesting jobs in baseball. Please join me in listening to Cristian and his overall experiences working in professional baseball.
